This group provides a safe, inclusive space for siblings of individuals with IDD to share their unique perspectives, build solidarity, and receive peer-based support as they navigate both advocacy and their own personal journeys.
Together, we are United and Ignited!

In the spirit of unity, empowerment, and self-advocacy, we, the Young Advocates for Change (YAC), proudly declare our commitment to fostering a community that champions the rights and dignity of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our objective is to unite, drive change, and lead from a self-advocate’s perspective within the California disability rights movement.
United and Proud: We embrace our unique identities as self-advocates and pledge to stand together with pride and unity.
Community of Equals: We aspire to create an inclusive community where every voice is heard, and every person is valued.
Building Connections: We recognize the power of connection and will come together to socialize, share experiences, and support one another on our journeys.
Advocacy with Purpose: We will define our message and advocate relentlessly for our right to lead meaningful, equitable lives and for inclusive environments where everyone belongs.
Supportive Allies: We are allies to one another, offering unwavering support in times of challenge and triumph.
Advocating for Each Other: We will work together to advocate for our needs, dreams, and aspirations, ensuring that no one is left behind.
Leading by Example: As self-advocates, we are leaders by nature. We pledge to lead by example, demonstrating that individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities are capable of making positive change.
Creating a Legacy: We commit to leaving a lasting legacy within the California disability rights movement, contributing to positive, lasting change for all.
Uniting Our Message: We will define a powerful message that represents our collective vision for equity, inclusivity, and respect.
Change Agents: We will actively engage with our communities and the systems of support to foster equitable lives for ourselves and future generations.
Together, we are Young Advocates for Change!

ICC Self-Determination Program (SDP)
We provide comprehensive training and Independent Facilitator support around California’s Self-Determination Program, guiding families through the development of Person-Centered Plans (PCPs), Individual Budgets, and Spending Plans. ICC also offers a 3-day Independent Facilitator (IF) training for those seeking to guide others through this life-changing pathway to autonomy.

LIDER (Leadership, Inclusion, Dignity, Equity, and Resilience)
LIDER is our leadership development initiative for emerging family and community leaders, designed to build the skills and confidence needed to advocate effectively within local and statewide systems.
Together, we can achieve meaningful outcomes and create a more inclusive and equitable future.

Our ICC Integradoras are at the heart of our mission, representing parents and self-advocates who are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of families with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Here’s what defines the role of an Integradora:
Integradoras undergo extensive training and empowerment programs. This knowledge equips them to engage with families in an informed and compassionate manner.
We believe in meeting each family right where they are, acknowledging their unique circumstances and challenges. By doing so, we can identify and address the multiple barriers that create disparities within the Regional Center system.
Integradoras serve as peers and equals, providing guidance and support to families. We walk hand-in-hand with them through every step of the process, ensuring they have the information and resources they need.
Our ultimate objective is twofold: to secure the necessary services and supports for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and to provide unwavering support throughout the entire process.
Integradoras are the bridge between families and a more equitable and systematic approach to accessing services. We are committed to helping families navigate complex systems, addressing barriers, and ensuring that individuals receive the support they deserve.
Our dedication lies in uniting our community and in creating a more inclusive and supportive future for all.

ICC Community Cafecitos
Our Community Cafecitos are weekly virtual gatherings via ZOOM that bring together individuals with disabilities, family members, and Integradoras to share information, build community, and find solutions to real-life challenges. Our Cafecitos provide a safe space for learning, support, and collective action, offering regular access to updates, resources, and guest speakers across relevant systems of care.
Navigating the Regional Center system—and the many other services that support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities—can often feel overwhelming, isolating, and complex. That’s why ICC hosts our weekly Community Cafecitos, a trusted space for connection, guidance, and community strength.
Join us every Thursday at 6:00 PM in an informal, welcoming virtual circle where families, self-advocates, and community leaders come together to share stories, ask questions, and learn from one another. Each week offers new insights, guest speakers, and updates on the systems that impact our lives.
Whether you’re just beginning your journey or have been advocating for years, you’ll find support, solidarity, and the tools to move forward—all rooted in our shared culture, language, and lived experience.
Because when our voices unite as a community, we don’t just navigate systems—we transform them.
